Do’s:

*          Make reservations as soon as possible.
*          Check newspaper advertisements for specials.
*          Contact travel agents in Chinatown areas.
*          Shop around as much as possible.
*          Try to suggest alternative routes through America.
*          Contact Korean Airlines and Thai Airlines. They are least expensive.
*          Try to find a travel agent that will work with you to get a good deal.
*          Check with your university. Usually students can get a discount fare.
*          Contact Council Travel which helps to arrange student and teacher discount fares.
*          Buy a ticket to a different country, such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, or Singapore. Sometimes those rates are much lower than those to Japan.

Don't:

*          Give up too soon.
*          Call the airlines directly. They will just quote you the standard prices.
